The Gallery

This will be the café space in TC with the large wall on the LHS and other wall space

Please note that this is a busy café space, and works must be suitable for display in this environment, 3-D works must be firmly fixed to the wall, and not protrude into the public zone.

About the Exhibitions

There are 6 No. 6 week slots available with a week between each slot.

Exhibitors are to theme work to tie in with other exhibitions and events in Taigh Chearsabhagh.

  • 2019 – Geology Eileanan Snaidhte ann an Clach – Islands Carved in Stone – Exhibition in the Museum
  • 2020 – Year of Coastal Communities

The Café represents one of the most public facing parts of Taigh Chearsabhagh, and it is important that exhibits reflect the professional ethos and standards of the rest of the centre. Applicants are encouraged to propose a cohesive exhibition that shows off a body of work. Using the exhibition as an opportunity to develop or produce new works will be favoured.

Any artist selected will be expected to hang their own work and make their own arrangements for assistance if required.

Works can be available for sale, with the usual TC commission of 20%

About selection

Once all the applications have been submitted, they will be assessed by a team made up from Taigh Chearsabhagh team and the UAA committee, and slots will be allocated accordingly. Unsuccessful candidates will be informed.

Support from TC

TC will advertise the exhibitions and also provide costs for Hebridean graphics to produce vinyl signage with the name of the artist/group and exhibition name (if relevant). Plus, a short 50-word max. artists statement, or description about the exhibition
