The Claddach Kirkibost centre has announced its events programme for September 2018:

  • Thursday 13th September 7pm
    Margaret Joan MacIsaac – Pinhole Photography Workshop Part I
    Local resident Margaret Joan will explore how to create photographs using a simple homemade camera which participants will make from recycled materials. Please note that this is a two-part workshop. Part II will look at how to develop images and will be held in Taigh Cearsabhagh on Thursday 20th September at 7pm. Each workshop is £6 or £10 when both are purchased together.
  • Monday 17th September 1.30pm
    Singer, songwriter and story teller Cathie Laing shares with us stories of places and people from her travelling days along with memories from her childhood.
    Entry is £6 per person, £5 concession, Under 11’s free
  • Friday 28th September 7pm
    Ina Salmean – The History of the Salmean Spinning Wheel 
    A rare opportunity to hear about the fascinating history and creation of the Salmean Spinning Wheel here in North Uist.
    Entry is £6 per person, £5 concession, Under 11’s free
    Jean Archer – There is more to it than meets the eye – Uists’ landscape and its geological foundations.
    Entry is £6 per person, £5 concession, Under 11’s free

    Kirsty O’Connor – Bonnie Uist Boats, Past, Present and Future 
    Berneray based artist Kirsty O’Connor presents an illustrated talk about some beautiful Uist-built boats, her artwork inspired by them and the new wave of community boatbuilding in the Isles.
    Entry is £6 per person, £5 concession, Under 11’s free

All events, unless otherwise stated, will take place at CKC and refreshments will be available to purchase from their Café.
