The Uist Arts Association has been very saddened to hear of the sudden passing yesterday of one of our most talented and active members, Judith Entwisle-Baker. Judith was an active and passionate supporter of arts in the Uists and a member of the UAA committee for as long as we can remember. She had also in the past been active within Taigh Chearsabhagh, where she sat on the Board of Directors as Chair for several years. Her tireless work steering the organisation in new directions. She will be very sadly missed.
Just discovered Judith’s work in a small (Puffin craft) shop on Benbecula and immediately fell in love with it.
How sad to hear that Judith passed away suddenly and recently. She must have been a wonderful person, being able to create such images.
I’d like to express my compassion to her husband, family and the Uist art community.
Also very saddened to hear of Judiths sudden passing.
We discovered her art a few years ago and began to collect prints. It was whilst on a recent drive out to the studio that we discovered what had happened. I hope that this does not mean the end of her beautiful depictions of the Uists as I for one would like to continue to build up my JEB gallery.
Our heartfelt condolences go to those she has left behind.
Judith used to be my boss in the 1980s. She was a delightful person. I am very sad to hear of her passing. My condolences to her family and friends.
